There is a small, 5% possibility of severe weather this Sunday!
From the Storm Prediction Center:
WEAK SURFACE LOW ASSOCIATED WITH ABOVE-MENTIONED SHORT WAVE TROUGH
IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP NNEWD FROM THE LOWER MS VALLEY INTO UPPER
MIDWEST…IN CONJUNCTION WITH WARM FRONT. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR THE
NWD ADVECTION OF A MOIST LOW-LEVEL AIR MASS THROUGH THE OH
VALLEY…SUPPORTING AN AXIS OF SLIGHT TO MODERATE CONVECTIVE
INSTABILITY. GENERALLY WEAK CAPPING AND BROAD ASCENT ACROSS WARM
SECTOR ARE EXPECTED TO FOSTER CLUSTERS OF DIURNAL STORMS ACROSS THE
REGION…WHICH WILL LIKELY CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY NIGHT.
I will be monitoring this as we get closer to the event, but right now it looks like damaging winds and hail are the only possibilities, small a that. This system does have the potential to increase in risk as we get closer, so keep checking back for updates!
